Describing Rhubaba

These descriptions were created during a training session in verbal description.  First we attempted a de-personalised description of the gallery working as a group.  We then described the space adopting particular roles and points of view; a child taking part in a workshop, a tourist, the ghost of Mike John Clarke, are just a few of the examples.

Part of the flow and fun of Lucy Pawlak’s project is that each visiting group passes something to the next group.  Our collective description was the starting point for a workshop with participants with visual impairments who discussed and altered it. The need for a clear and consistent view point was discussed (where are you describing from?) as well as other sensory elements added; light effects, temperatures, sounds from outside.  We would have liked to discuss the different descriptions and points of view but needed more time so sharing them here.
